How it Began…

A California native, Christian Vuceta is the founder and Corporate Executive Officer of Vuceta Diamonds. From a very young age, Christian always had an interest in diamonds and jewelry. While other children were busy watching Spongebob, Christian would watch the American jewelry channel, JTV, intrinsically fascinated with the natural glimmer and energy of gemstones. Although, he did not immediately pursue a career in diamonds and jewelry.

Always fascinated with human behavior and mentality, he obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of California: Santa Barbara (UCSB). Recognizing the need for an edge in the fiercely competitive job market, he furthered his education and obtained his Master's in Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam (UVA).

Studying in Europe and being so close to the diamond marketplace has reignited his passion for diamonds and jewelry. In order to sharpen his knowledge of the industry, he studied at the International Gemological Institute (IGI) in Antwerp. Instead of further pursuing academia or a career in the private business sector, and recognizing a niche in the market, he took his knowledge obtained in Amsterdam and Antwerp and opened his own diamond company in a way that brings innovation and relevancy to younger consumers.

    One of the most depressing things about the diamond industry is seeing how despite the billions of dollars the diamond industry generates, many origin countries remain destitute. I knew I had to integrate giving back to these communities directly into my business model.

    I value quality over quantity. The best of the best. As a result, I knew that cutting corners was not an option. Amsterdam is a fantastic city and I knew I had to bring some light back into “The City of Diamonds”. There is no better way of doing this than having the best diamond artisans in the world add their special touch.
